This is a list of the accomplishments, awards and rewards that have been attributed to the students, instructors, and the school since Kuk Sool Wontm of Half Moon Bay opened in 1997

A world class school.

Students and instructors of Kuk Sool Wontm of Half Moon Bay have competed in local, state, national, international and world wide competitions. We regularly receive Gold Medals in all areas of martial arts competition. We also are proud of three Grand Champions and two World Grand Champions. Because of this great success, we have also spawned another school in Menlo Park, California. Students and instructors have competed in San Francisco, Sacramento, Houston, Pusan, Korea, and Norwich England. Here is only a sampling of the many accomplished martial artists who train here.

Kris Quintana


Sa Bum Nim Kris Quintana is one of our most celebrated students. Her dedication and training have surpassed all expectations entering her into an elite community of world class martial artists.

World Grand Champion


In October of 2001, Kris joined our team from Half Moon Bay at the World Kuk Sool Tournament and Master's Exhibition held in Houston, Texas. While there, she earned gold medals in Sparring, Self-defense, and Techniques and a Silver Medal in Breaking. These combined together to grant her the rank of World Grand Champion!

School Owner: Kuk Sool Wontm of Menlo Park


After many years as an Instructor in Half Moon Bay and r3eaching the coveted rank of Pu Sa Bum Nim (third degree black belt) and opened her own school in Menlo Park, California. Here she shares her knowledge and experience to young and old alike hoping to bring to her community more of what Kuk Sool Won has to offer.

World Grand Champion 2008 at the World Kuk Sool Tournament in Houston, Texas. Kyo Sa Nim Eric is known especially for his sparring and advanced kicking. He is seen in this photo breaking two boards at one time called yang bal cha ki. One time, several years ago, Eric came to me and said "I don't want to compete in forms competition anymore, I simply don't understand them." I said, "Let's do try one more time, but this time we will polish your forms and make them perfect." The next competition he won in forms and recieve World Grand Champion

Noah Ferrra

JKN Noah and Kuk Sa Nim
Grand Champion 2008 at the Pacific Coast Kuk Sool Tournament in Oakland, California. Jyo Kyo Nim Noah is known especially for his high energy and acrobatics. He is seen in this photo standing with Kuk Sa Nim, the Grandmaster. JKN Noah has been training in Kuk Sool for 5 years and won this distinction at the age of 11 years old. Jyo Kyo Nim means "First Degree Black Belt" which marks him as quite an accomplished young man, indeed. He continues to train towards his 2nd Degree Black Belt and is an intrigal member of our Leadership Team.
